The File Tree and Multi-Folder Workspace

The file tree in the sidebar is where you open and manage the files you're working on.

Opening folders

Choose File → Open Folder… (Ctrl+Shift+O) to add a folder as a root in the sidebar. typealot supports a multi-folder workspace — you can open several folders at once and work across them. If no folders are open yet, the sidebar reads No folders pinned. Use File → Open Folder to add one.

Pinning (bookmarking) a folder

Each root folder has a bookmark button. Bookmarking a folder pins it so it won't be closed accidentally (Bookmark (prevent closing)). An unpinned folder also has a small × to Remove from sidebar.
