Working with PDFs

PDFs open in typealot's PDF editor, which lets you view, fill in forms, and make simple page changes.

Viewing

Use the toolbar to move between pages (or type a page number), and zoom in and out or Fit the page to the window. Toggle a thumbnail sidebar to jump around a long document quickly.

Page operations

Each of these is a single step you can undo:

• Rotate the current page left or right
• Duplicate the current page
• Insert a blank page after the current one
• Delete the current page (you can't delete the only page in a document)

Filling in forms

If a PDF has form fields (an AcroForm), you can fill them in directly — text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, and dropdowns. (typealot doesn't offer freehand drawing or highlighting tools; form fields are the editable parts.)

Saving and undo

• PDFs are saved manually — they don't autosave. Save with Ctrl+S.
• You can undo up to 10 steps. Note there's no redo for PDFs, so once you undo a change, the forward state is gone.

Password-protected PDFs

A password-protected PDF opens read-only, with a banner: This PDF is password-protected and is being viewed read-only. Editing and conversion are disabled for locked PDFs.
