The window and menus

On Windows, typealot's menus (File, Edit, View, Tab, Help) live inside the window, along with the Minimize, Maximize, and Close window controls.

Setting typealot as the default app

The first time you run typealot on Windows, it offers to make typealot the default app for common file types — Markdown, PDF, plain text, and encrypted (.talenc) files. You can:

• Set as default — register typealot and open Windows' Default apps settings to confirm
• Customize… — choose exactly which types
• Not now — skip it (you can change this later)

Windows requires you to confirm default-app changes in its own Settings → Default apps screen, which typealot opens for you.

File associations

To control which file types show typealot in the Windows Open with… menu, open File → Options… → File associations, tick the types you want, and click Apply.
